B.Ed Course Prospectus

THE COLLEGE: SREENARAYANA COLLEGE OF EDUCATION, MAHE, was inaugurated by Dr. Sundara Vadivelu, (Regional Executive Officer) Mahe on 04.10.1995. The College is sanctioned by the Government of Pondicherry, affiliated to the Pondicherry Central University, and recognised by N.C.T.E., for conducting the B.Ed Degree Course. It is the second college of education under private sector affiliated to Pondicherry Central University. The college offers instructions in methods of teaching in the following optional subjects. * Mathematics * Natural Science * Social Studies * English MANAGEMENT: The College is managed by Sree Narayana Educational Guidance Society, Thalassery, a Regd. Society under Charitable Societies Act. It has a Governing Committee of academicians to facilitate a wide range of educational avenues to the people. Dr. M.A. Sundaram, M.B.B.S., M.A. Ph. D is the Chairman of the Society. COURSE AND DURATION: The college offers a Degree course in Bachelor of Education and the duration of the course is one academic year covering not less than 210 working days. ADMISSION CRITERIA: Admission to the course is open to all those fulfil the prescribed qualification irrespective of caste, religion, language or sex. The selection will be in accordance with the guidelines issued by the University and Govt. of Pondicherry from time to time. A committee of academic experts is constituted to prepare the provisional selection list of students for admission as per the norms Preference will be given to the Residents of Mahe Region on production of necessary Residence Certificate and Study Certificate issued by the competent authorities as per Regulations. A candidate shall be eligible for admission to the Degree of Bachelor of Education provided that he/she has taken the B.A/B.Sc., M.A/M.Sc., Degree in the concerned optional subjects of Madras, Andhra, Calicut, Kerala Universities or any other Universities accepted as equivalent thereto subject to such conditions as may be prescribed by Pondicherry University. FEES STRUCTURE: The rate of fees is as per the Rules admissible in unaided self-finance B.Ed colleges. The fees should be paid in lump sum at the time of admission. GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS The Candidate should fill the application form in his/her own handwriting. * The filled up applications should be accompanied with attested copies of certificates. * Original certificates should be produced at the time of interview. * Original certificates along with 3 sets of Photostat copies must be submitted at the time of admission. * Fees must be paid in one installment at the time of admission and it will not be refunded on any instances, if the candidate desires to leave the course in the middle.
